The Open Air Burning Permit is not required for: [1] Burning in a barrel with a mesh screen, no larger than 0.5 inches; [2] Burning in a recreational outdoor wood burning device.

No. Permits issued on this website are valid for the Conception Bay South area only. If you require a permit for another municipality you must contact the appropriate fire department or town in that area.
Yes. A Burn Permit is required for the use of fireworks on all days of the year, except Canada Day (July 1) and New Year's Eve (December 31), when a permit is not required. Please Note: If fireworks are postponed due to weather or any other reason and are discharged on a different date, a Burn Permit will be required for the new date.
YES! Forest Fire Season is May 1- September 30 each year and a secondary permit from Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is required. This permit is in addition to the one you obtain from the CBS Fire Dept. Call Forestry at 729-4180 for more information.
Before applying for a Burn Permit from the Town of Conception Bay South Fire Department, residents must ensure that any required permits related to land development or construction have been obtained from the Town of Conception Bay South Planning and Development Department. This includes activities such as land clearing, site preparation, or the construction of buildings and other structures. When a province-wide fire ban is in effect, all open-air burning is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: Backyard recreational fires, Beach fires, Campfires, Open-air fires of any kind and Fireworks. During a province-wide fire ban, Burn Permits will not be issued, and previously issued permits are cancelled.
